Inguinal hernia surgery

chirurgie de la hernie inguinale inguinal hernia repair

Inguinal hernia (groin hernia) is a very common condition, and accounts for more than 90% of hernias in general.
Among the techniques used, there are techniques with and without tension. The techniques known as tension techniques involve bringing the muscles together with a non-absorbable suture, as in the Shouldice, McVay or Bassini technique.
Tension-free techniques involve using a wall reinforcement commonly called a “plate”, a “patch” or a net (mesh), and make it possible to avoid the tension caused by bringing the muscles together. The tension-free techniques are the technique known as “Lichtenstein” by the open approach or, by the minimally invasive and laparoscopic approach (video surgery), TEP (Totally Extra Peritoneal) or TAPP (Trans Abdominal Pre Peritoneal).
We discuss these techniques in the webinar organised by Laboratoire Peters.
