Since March 2018, 5 patients have been included in the Trans-Oral (Anterior Vestibular) Endoscopic Thyroidectomy (TOETVA) programme. They were 5 women aged between 35 and 45 who had an indication for hemithyroidectomy: in 3 cases for a toxic adenoma and in two cases for a symptomatic nodule larger than 3 cm. In these last two cases, fine-needle aspiration cytology was negative. Surgery lasted between 120 and 180 min. The operations were performed under recurrent nerve monitoring. There was no conversion to cervicotomy. The post-operative course was straightforward. There was no post-operative haematoma or seroma. There was no recurrent nerve paresis. Chin hypoaesthesia is observed for a few weeks. The patients were very satisfied. Other operations are planned, including total thyroidectomies
